BLACKPOOL Airshow will have an exciting new twist this year.
The show is set to not only feature its usual display of aeroplanes speeding through the skies, but also the Brietling Wingwalkers, who perform acrobatics on the wings of aircraft.
The high-altitude gymnasts are the world’s only formation wingwalking display team.
The planes themselves are bright orange 1940s Stearman biplanes which will reach speeds up to 140mph in the skies above the Fylde coast as the wingwalkers entertain the crowds with their stunts.
Chief Pilot Martyn Carrington said: “Precision timing is a crucial aspect of all display flying.”
This year’s air show takes place on August 12.
