BLACKPOOL FC Girls unveiled a newlook under-13s, which won the Wigan Tournament in style.

In their opening match against Urmston, Blackpool had the lion’s share of chances and possession but could not break the deadlock

They had plenty of shots too in the second game against Liverpool Feds, but still fell behind. They soon equalised through Rebecca Shaw to share the spoils.

Against Penrith, Shaw gave them an early lead and debutant Erin Menzies confidently struck the second.

Captain Evren Vurdu was self-assured in midfeld, and Lily Hamley battled hard as the game finished 1-0.

Blackpool were buzzing with confidence for the rematch with Liverpool Feds and Shaw struck a superb opener.

Menzies sealed a 2-0 win, while Ellie Fisher played hard, with Jordyn Ellison, Eleanor Bannister, Steph Haigh and Erin Croft solid at the back.

The weather was atrocious by the time of the final against Urmston Panthers.

Lily Hamley was in fine form as Blackpool attacked well.

They opened the scoring with a screamer from Shaw, who weaved her way through the defence for a second.

Eleanor Bannister sealed the victory with her first goal for the club and Jordyn Ellison worked hard for her clean sheet.

To complete a successful weekend, the team then travelled to Burscough for the league’s annual presentations, receiving the winners’ shield for the third consecutive season.
