As a qualified social worker, Amanda has 22 years experience working in local authorities and has worked in Children’s Services and safeguarding as well as being a member of a national safeguarding panel for sport.

She said: “I am delighted to have joined the NSPCC team and I am looking forward to helping deliver significant change in Blackpool, and improve outcomes for the most vulnerable families and babies across the town.”

Director of the Centre for Early Child Development in the town Merle Davies said: “We are thrilled to have attracted someone of Amanda’s calibre to the team.

“Her skills will be a huge asset in helping us give every baby in Blackpool a better start in life and break the intergenerational cycle of poor outcomes.”
