ONE of the Fylde coast’s biggest health and leisure clubs has given its backing to The Gazette’s Best of Health Awards.
The De Vere Village Heron’s Reach has given its support to the awards, which aim to recognise all those on the Fylde coast who work tirelessly for the health of others.
Gazette readers have been nominating their health heroes – whether they be in a high-profile role such as surgeons or GPs or more behind the scenes roles like the hospital porter who always greets patients with a smile.
Bosses at the De Vere said they were happy to support the awards – including sponsoring the Physical Therapist of the Year category – as health of the local population was of great importance.
Nathan Smith Hilliard, general manager at Herons Reach, said: “We fully appreciate the hard work of those, both in the NHS and the private health sector, who work tirelessly to look after the health of local people.
“With the ever-increasing focus on exercise and diet, within our busy schedules, it has become even more important for all of us to be mindful of our fitness and the exercise we undertake, combined with alcohol and food consumption, to ensure we lead long and healthy lives and these Best of Health awards only go to support this.”
And as a thank-you to those who nominate those representing the best in health, the De Vere has provided 11 day passes.
Everyone who nominates will be entered into a draw to win a pass to the De Vere’s exclusive health and fitness club, giving them access for the day to the De Vere’s leisure club facilities – including the stunning spa, recently-opened heated outdoor pool and indoor swimming pool. You must be 18 to be eligible to win.
You still have time to nominate. E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or write to Suzanne Steedman, at The Gazette, Avroe House, Avroe Crescent, Blackpool Business Park, FY4 2DP.
Include your name and contact details and the name and contact details of the person you are nominating, with a summary – no more than 300 words – of why they deserve an award.
