Blackpool is set for a new alien invasion.

Fylde-based extra-terrestrial expert David Boyle is hoping to relaunch his Exhibition of the Universe.

The display was previously inside the Golden Mile Centre but David is now preparing to reopen in new premises which are twice the size.

He has applied to Blackpool Council for planning permission to use the ground floor of the former Village Market on the corner of Dale Street and Foxhall Road, near Central Pier.

Displays will include replicas of UFOs and aliens and features relating to spiritual and paranormal activity.

Mr Boyle said: “It will be an extensive and knowledgeable experience about the workings of the universe.

“We are trying to show how the universe works and it is very philosophical. We will have full size models of aliens based on descriptions from people who have seen them.

“The scheme will also see a derelict market turned into something that will lift the entire area and bring a lot of visitors to Blackpool.

“We hope to open as soon as we get planning approval.”

The attraction moved to make way for a dinosaur exhibition which has opened in the Golden Mile Centre.

Mr Boyle who has written books and DVDs on the subject of the universe, also formerly operated a Doctor Who Exhibition on the Promenade.
