THIS Blackpool beauty has beaten off competition from across the UK to bag a place in the semi-finals of a national modelling competition.
Christina Avloniti, of Abbotsford Road, is just one strut away from the finals of Miss Teen Great Britain 2012 – held at The Globe in Blackpool.
The 16-year-old Marton beauty will take part in the semi-final event in July but already has a list of achievements, including making it to the last eight of Miss Teen World Super Models, behind her.
The pretty teenager said: “I have always watched modelling programmes on television and liked the look of the catwalks and the photo shoots.
“I spotted a competition on line, Miss Top Model UK, and just thought I would give it a go, the next day I got a call asking me to go down to London.
“It was very exciting but nerve-wracking as well, the worse thing was the interview but I got through and was picked to walk at the Fashion International Show, held in London last March.”
Christina also took second place in Miss Model Girl UK last July and because she is part Greek – her father is from Corfu – she was eligible to take part in Miss Teen World Super Models in Fiji last October.
The classical ballet dancer, who attends Phil Winston Theatreworks College on Blackpool Promenade, added: “Although I go to school in Greece I love coming to Blackpool for the summer and hope to study at the University of Central Lancashire.
“It would be such an honour to represent my home in the final of the Miss Teen Great Britain competition, it would be a dream come true.”
Christina’s mum, Sandra, 52, said: “I am blessed to have three wonderful children and am very proud of Christina, she has her feet on the ground.
“She has achieved so much and has had so many modelling offers but she wants to get a degree so she has security behind her.
“She goes to school with her trainers on and her hair tied up, she has not been affected by her success, and it would be lovely of she could be an ambassador for Blackpool.”
