THE heartbroken parents of two women brutally murdered by their violent ex-partners have joined forces to fight for justice.

A year ago today nurse Jane Clough was slaughtered outside Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Her parents today pleaded: “Don’t let this happen to another girl.”

Miss Clough, a 26-year-old mum-of-one, and Fleetwood mum Claire Atkinson, 31, both died at the hands of their violent ex-partners who were out on bail – free to stalk the innocent young women and stab them to death.

The frightening similarities of the women’s tragic deaths have brought their parents – John and Penny Clough and Grenville and Kath Atkinson – together to support each other in a bid to change the law surrounding bail.

Mrs Clough, Jane’s mother, said: “We share a pain that we know what each other is going through.

“We have both lost daughters because of men who were out on bail.”
