MUMS across the coast could find themselves with a very different Mothers Day gift this year.
For a top Fylde coast attraction has launched some zoo-nique gifts this year.
Instead of a box of chocolates or a pretty bracelet, mums could find themselves tickling a tapir, meeting an aardvark, or getting up close to a lion at Blackpool Zoo.
The award-winning attraction has a whole host of really wild ideas to delight any animal lover, from memberships through to a full day of being an animal trainer.
New animal encounters have been added to the list of experiences at the zoo. There’s a purrfect Big Cat Encounter to mini experiences including Meet the Aardvarks and Tickle a Tapir.
The zoo’s popular ‘Keeper for the Day’ experiences can be enjoyed all year round.
A spokesman for the zoo said of the animal training sessions: “Mums will spend the day shadowing the animal experts and preparing food, cleaning out enclosures and getting up close and personal with some of Blackpool’s most popular residents.
“And animal adoptions are a great alternative gift that will also help with the conservation of endangered species across the globe.”
More information on the fantastic array of ‘zoo-nique’ gifts on offer at the attraction can be found at www.blackpoolzoo.org.uk.
Blackpool Zoo’s visitor numbers continued to hit record highs in 2011, with the year being hailed as the busiest in the zoo’s 39 year history.
The zoo is home to more than 1,500 mammals, birds, reptiles and invertebrates set in 32 acres of mature woodland and lakes.
