Becky Porter, 30, says she is lucky to still have her eyesight after a woman reveller threw the glass in her face at The Cube nightclub, in Poulton, which left her covered in blood.

Becky said: “The blood was just gushing, it wouldn’t stop.

“I was thinking I was going to die because of the amount of blood I lost, I was absolutely covered in it.

“I’m just mortified, it was horrific and I want her to face justice for what she’s done.

“Because of this I don’t want to go out again, I don’t want to entertain that scene at all.”

Teaching assistant Becky was on the ground floor of the packed club with her friend when the attack happened in the early hours of Sunday.

The female thug initially threw her wine over Becky,  after police said she thought her victim had bumped into her.

As Becky turned round, the woman threw the glass in her face, causing a deep wound to her cheek. Becky then stumbled outside, dazed and clutching her injured face, where she was helped by one of the venue’s doormen to a waiting ambulance, which was coincidentally parked outside on Breck Road.

Her attacker is believed to have then fled the club.

She is described as mixed race with an athletic build, around 5ft 6ins tall, with dark hair.

Paramedics treated Becky at the scene before transferring her to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, where she was stitched up and discharged at 5am.

Becky, who lives in Poulton with her four-year-old daughter Sienna, said: “Her first words when she saw me were ‘who hurt my mummy’s face?’

“It’s going to be scarred.

“So many people have been so supportive about the whole situation and we’re desperate to find this girl.

“My family were devastated but they’re just glad I’m alive and I’ve got my eyes.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Det Con Emma Shuttleworth, from Blackpool CID, said: “This was a cowardly, unprovoked attack on a woman who did nothing more than  accidentally bump into someone near the dance floor.

“The victim was enjoying a night out with friends and to be attacked in this way must have been extremely  frightening. A police investigation to identify the woman responsible is under way but I would urge her to come forward to the police.

“Also, friends of the offender will know who is responsible.

“I would ask them to have the courage to come forward and speak to me.”

Danielle Mellor, general manager of The Cube, said the club was helping police, adding: “We are looking into the alleged accident on Saturday night and are assisting the police to resolve this unusual and isolated incident.”
