FORGET Westminster – one MP is ready to go back to school.
Fylde MP Mark Menzies will swap politics for the classroom next week as he heads to a Lytham nursery to meet the tiny tots and spread an important message.
Mr Menzies will be at St Peter’s Kindergarten next week to help serve milk to the youngsters, as part of a national campaign to encourage children to drink up.
All the under-fives from the Norfolk Road nursery get their milk free every day of the week and drink it together, while subsidised school milk is for all primary school children aged between five and 11.
The aim of Mr Menzies’ visit is to help promote the benefits of milk, which include essential nutrients and vitamins to aid youngsters’ health and physical development.
John Sedgwick, managing director for school milk company Cool Milk, said: “Milk in schools continues to be incredibly popular and hugely successful in contributing to the healthy development of all children – but especially where children are struggling to get their daily nutrients.”
