A protest banner attached to the back of a plane demanding Manchester United manager David Moyes be sacked is set to fly out of a Blackpool hangar today.

The banner, which reads ‘Wrong One: Moyes Out’ will fly over Old Trafford as United’s home game with Aston Villa kicks off at 12.45pm today.

And the banner, which cost a group of United fans £840, will be flown from the Air Ads premises, at Blackpool Airport.

Chris Mustow, chief pilot for Air Ads, who will be towing the banner, said: “I’ll be getting airborne at about 12.30pm, swooping down to hook up the banner and getting to Old Trafford just before kick off.

“I have done quite a few of these before – recently we were over Bloomfield Road – but this is certainly one of the most high profile.

“I don’t really follow football but I know Manchester United haven’t been doing too well this season so I can understand the fans’ frustration.”

United currently lie seventh in the Premier League table.
