POLICE have arrested a convicted sex offender after he went missing in Blackpool.
Kenneth Trotter, 77, was living in the resort having recently been deported from Australia, where he had a number of convictions for sex offences and child sex offences.
Trotter registered himself as staying at a Blackpool address but when police went to check, there was no record of him having stayed there.
Officers appealed to the public for help in finding Trotter for breaching his notification requirements.
He was found by a police officer in Blackpool town centre around 10.15am on Saturday.
A police spokesman said: “Further to the appeal issued on Friday, Kenneth Trotter was located by an officer. He was arrested for failure to comply with notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and will appear before Blackpool Magistrates Court.”
