He lists Robbie Williams, Billie Piper and Justin Timberlake among his former clients and now a Fylde coast stylist is taking America by storm.
Fresh from working at London Fashion Week, 38-year-old Anthony Edge appeared on American television programme The Morning Blend, promoting his work as international artistic director with haircare range label.m.
Anthony, who is listed as one of the top 10 platform artists in the USA, said his work has taken him all over the world.
He added: “I live in Miami and travel every week doing shows, seminars, shoots and now TV all over the country.
“The label.m professional haircare range is in 48 countries around the world and was recently the official haircare product of London Fashion Week.
“We headed up more than 40 runway shows this season, with designers like Vivienne Westwood, Jean-Pierre Braganza, Giles, Todd Lynn and Pam Hogg.
“Only last week I was asked to talk through our 2014 range in front of 5,000 people at a haircare show.”
Blackpool-born Anthony lived in Caunce Street until he was 21.
He left St Mary’s High School to join David Maria Hair Studio in Poulton, before attending Blackpool hairdressing school, Hubert James International, where he won student of the year.
He was also the first man in Blackpool to receive an NVQ level 3 in hairdressing.
His big break came when working with world-renowned hair team Toni&Guy.
Anthony added: “I moved to London when I was 21 and joined the group.
“I became international artistic director and headed up education seminars and shows all over the world.
“I made the finals of the British Hairdressing Awards in 2005 and 2006, before I got more involved in label.m haircare which was a new adventure.
“It involved shoots for magazines, travelling the world and doing hair for London Fashion Week.
“I have done hair for Robbie Williams, Kimberley Walsh, Billie Piper, Justin Timberlake, Tony Bennett and Mandy Tythe-McCallum – tourism manager at VisitBlackpool who is also my sister!”
Anthony said he enjoys travelling the world as part of his job, but admitted there is no place like home – with one reason above all others to visit the Fylde coast.
He added: “I was in Blackpool a few weeks ago to see friends and family and I always have to have Seniors Fish and Chips with my family.
“I always read The Gazette online to keep up to date with what’s happening in Blackpool plus I love to follow the best football team in the world – Blackpool FC!
“I was lucky to get a game in while I was over, against Watford.
“I even flew over for a day to see us at Wembley when we lost to West Ham.”
Anthony is set for another television appearance next month on the same show and hoped it would “continue to open doors for him”.
