A Blackpool man who repeatedly breached a restraining order has been warned he is facing a prison sentence.

John Wignall, 50, of Claremont Road, North Shore, pleaded guilty to three offences of acting in breach of a restraining order, plus two others of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one of assault by beating, all relating to the same woman.

The offences cover dates in April, June and October last year.

The pleas were entered at a Preston Crown Court hearing yesterday.

Defence barrister Chris Hudson asked for the case to be adjourned so that a pre-sentence report can be drawn up by probation.

Wignall was in custody and there was no application for bail. The case is due to return to court on March 30.

Judge Pamela Badley told the defendant: “It is highly likely that this will be a custodial sentence”.
