A MOTORCYCLIST has been killed in a collision on a rural road.

The 47-year-old man from Thornton, who has not been named, died from his injuries after he was thrown from his bike.

The accident happened just before 12.45pm on Sunday at the junction of Lancaster Road and Gulf Lane in Pilling.

Police believe the man, who was riding a Suzuki motorcycle along Lancaster Road towards the village, collided with a VW Passat which was turning into Gulf Lane.
