A BLACKPOOL man has been jailed for assaulting his wife and his girlfriend.
Twenty-nine-year-old Andrew Walsh was put behind bars for 18 weeks by Blackpool Magistrates.
Walsh admitted assaulting his wife and his girlfriend.
Angus Craigen, prosecuting, said that the man’s wife received information which led her to go to his girlfriend’s address. When she got there her husband came out of a bedroom and after an exchange of words started to punch her and flung his wife to the floor.
She managed to escape from the house on Butts Road, Thornton, and call police.
Officers arrived at the house and the girlfriend complained to them she had also been assaulted by Walsh who she claimed had bitten her arm.
Magistrates heard Walsh came from a travelling family and had 51 previous convictions.
Patrick Nelligan, defending, said when the wife arrived at the girlfriend’s house she found her dressed in just a T-shirt and a pair of boxer shorts.
The lawyer said the trouble began after the two women exchanged blows.
He added: “As a result of what happened my client is now homeless.”
