Man in serious condition after crash

A CYCLIST was today in a serious condition in hospital after a crash in North Shore.

The 45-year-old cyclist, who is from the resort, was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital where he is being treated for back injuries after a collision with a Rover 45 on Warley Road at the junction of Sherbourne Road.

A number of roads were closed for around two hours yesterday as accident investigators attempted to piece together what happened.

The cyclist remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the Rover was unhurt in the crash, which happened around 10.10am.

Blackpool Police today appealed for anyone who saw the crash to come forward.

Sgt Dave Hogarth said: “I would appeal to anybody who was in the area at the time of the collision who witnessed it to contact us.”
