A MAN who was engulfed in flames while trying to repair his car on a Blackpool road has died.
The 54-year-old motorist, whose identity has not been released, had stopped on Yeadon Way, Blackpool, at around 8.40am on Thursday when the accident happened.
Fire crews from Forest Gate and South Shore rushed to the scene along with police and paramedics.
The man suffered serious burns to his upper body.
A Lancashire Police spokesman today confirmed: “The man died on Friday night at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester.
“His family were with him.
“There are no suspicious circumstances. It was a tragic accident.”
