A man was rescued by paramedics after becoming stuck in mud close to the foreshore at Lytham.
The Coastguard was called to help around 7.35am yesterday after a phone call from ambulance control.
A 52-year-old man, out walking, had become stuck in the mud.
A Coastguard spokesman said: “Ambulance control phoned saying a man was stuck in the mud near to Lytham Windmill.
“We were called to help and by the time we arrived the man had been pulled to safety by paramedics.
“He was fortunate it was low water when he became stuck.”
The incident followed a call-out around 9.30pm on Sunday when a man was pulled from the water near to Blackpool’s North Pier.
Coastguard crews and a Blackpool RNLI team were called to help, with the man passed to police after assistance from rescue teams.
