A man accused of assaulting a Blackpool student has appeared at court.
Thomas Field, 26, from Levenshulme, Manchester, is charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm on Reece Roberts during an incident on Queen Street, in Blackpool, on Friday.
Mr Roberts, 25, a Blackpool and The Fylde College student, was knocked unconscious after allegedly being punched in the face while standing outside Bar 19.
Police were called to the incident around 1.30am on Friday.
Mr Roberts, a former Claremont Primary School pupil, was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital but, after suffering a severe fit, was transferred to Royal Preston Hospital, a specialist centre for head injuries.
Field did not ask for bail when he appeared before Blackpool Magistrates and will appear before Preston Crown Court on October 24.
