Detectives investigating reports a man tried to take upskirt pictures of schoolgirls have made an arrest.

The development came just hours after police appealed for the public’s help in catching a man suspected of targeting four girls aged 12 and 13 in McDonald’s, Bank Hey Street, Blackpool, on Tuesday, April 5.

A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said: “A 34-year-old from St Annes has been arrested on suspicion of voyeurism.”

Police did not confirm the name of the arrested man, and were unable to say when, where, or how he was arrested.

He remains in custody this morning, and is due to be interviewed by detectives.
