A CELEBRITY beauty secret has come to the Fylde coast.

The latest craze is helping women create longer, fuller eye lashes in just a matter of weeks, and not a mascara wand in sight!

Scientists have developed the new treatment – dubbed “Botox for eyelashes” – which could make false eyelashes and mascara a thing of the past.

The procedure involves applying a lotion which encourages lashes to grow and thicken – and it is already a hit in the United States, where it is used by actresses including Claire Danes.

Applying the lotion daily over a period of four months, is said to double the thickness of the lashes, as well as making them 25 per cent longer and 18 per cent darker.

Only a handful of salons have the Latisse product in the UK, as the lotion must be prescribed.

And Therapy House, in St Annes, has become the first on the Fylde coast to offer the treatment – which was developed from a medication used to treat eye disorders.

It is manufactured by American pharmaceutical giant Allergan, which also makes Botox.

Naomi Bardusco, 27, from Blackpool, who works as a freelance beautician for HD Brows, was among one of the first to try the new product.

She said: “I get to see lots of new beauty products coming out, as I am freelance and work in lots of different salons, but this is one of the best I have ever seen. I noticed a difference after seven days, but after 15 days, the results were amazing.

“My lashes are longer, they are darker and thicker. I used to wear false eyelashes, but don’t need to now.

“As I have started now, then by Christmas with all the Christmas parties and so on, my lashes will be really long!

“I really am impressed.”

Deni Middleton, who works at Therapy House, said the eyelash serum was proving popular so far.

She said: “There are not many places offering the treatment as it has to be prescribed, but Dawn Attewell here at Therapy House is a nurse-prescriber.

“Once prescribed, the client can take the product home and apply it themselves. It only takes a very tiny drop of the serum and it makes such a big difference.

“It’s great for anybody, but especially for older ladies whose lashes may have thinned a little.

“They say optimum results come after 16 weeks, but we have noticed results within a couple of weeks.”
