Woolworths boost for Blackpool business

BLACKPOOL-BASED discount retailer B and M Bargains is reportedly planning to take over 28 closed Woolworths branches.

The budget chain took over the St Annes store in January and a flagship store in Wigan in February.

It has been reported it now plans to take over a further 28 of the stores, which closed at the end of 2008 or the start of this year.

The B and M chain now has more than 100 stores across the country, employing more than 3,000 people.
