Vote in our christmas school choir competition
THE search for the Fylde coast's best high school choir has been launched!
Secondary school songbirds will now go head to head in The Gazette's Christmas School Choir competition.
A total of 14 schools are taking part in this year's competition, in which pupils perform one festive song.
The Gazette has visited every participating school to film their choir in action.
Entries have now been uploaded on to our website so people can vote for the school they think should be crowned The Gazette Christmas School Choir 2009.
Closing date for voting is Monday December 14.
Appearing in The Gazette's 2009 competition are – Arnold School, Baines School, Beacon Hill High School, Bispham High School and Arts College, Cardinal Allen, Carr Hill High School, Collegiate High School, Highfield Humanities College, Hodgson High School, King Edward VII and Queen Mary School, Millfield Science and Performing Arts College, Palatine Community Sports College, Rossall School and St Mary's Catholic College.

The choir who receive the most votes will be awarded The Gazette's Christmas School Choir 2009 trophy.
The reigning champions, Carr Hill School in Kirkham, are defending their title with a special arrangement of Silent Night.
Bispham High School pupils were also one of the first to sign up to perform with their gospel version of Silent Night.
John Topping, deputy headteacher, said: "The Gazette competition marks the end of a busy year for us. We were invited to sing at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday and the gospel choir has been invited to the German town of Bottrop. We're very confident in our entry as it's a great song with a different twist."
Louise Waring, Carr Hill head of music, said: "Everyone knows and loves Silent Night but we needed to give it a 21st century flavour.
"We want to ensure our choir hits the right notes once again. They have all worked very hard to present this beautiful piece of music and it sounds fantastic."
The competition is being sponsored by Blackpool Sixth Form College. Ian Coleman, head of performing arts and music, said: "On behalf of the department I would like to wish all participants the best of luck."
