Tourism seminar gives an insight into getting online

TOURISM businesses across the Fylde coast are being told how to get in line with online.

Hotels and attractions keen to develop their online marketing or who want to promote themselves through YouTube or blogging can get expert advice at a seminar.

The free event is being organised by Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board.

The first, in partnership with Fylde Council, is at The Dalmeny Hotel in Lytham on Wednesday January 16.

A tourist board spokesman said: “With over half of the internet’s users now booking their holiday online, it has never been more important for tourism businesses to develop online marketing.

“Advice will cover making the most of tourism websites and attracting visitors through search engines, online booking, food and drink marketing on the internet, and also how to go about social networking through online public relations.”

n Tourism businesses wanting to book a place for the January 16 seminar should e-mail vivw@fylde.gov.uk or ring (01253) 658436.

For the January 23 seminar, e-mail g.cox@preston.gov.uk or phone (01772) 254651.
