Police charged the teenager on Friday

Police charged the teenager on Friday

A MAN has been charged with attempted rape, sexual assault and child abduction on teenage girls in Blackpool.

The 18-year-old local man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested and charged on Friday.

He is charged with sexual assault and attempted rape on June 14 and child abduction on June 1.

He appeared before Blackpool Magistrates on Saturday and was remanded in custody and will next appear before magistrates on September 14.

Officers launched an investigation after a teenage girl was approached and allegedly grabbed by a man about 8.30am on June 1 on the cut through to Grange Park next to the Bowling Green off Garstang Road.

A second alleged assault took place in the same location shortly after 9am on June 14.
