Tea and dancing stay on the menu
AFTERNOON tea dances which were being piloted in Fleetwood have proved so successful they are to continue until the end of the year.
Initially, the tea dances at the Marine Hall, Fleetwood, were planned for only seven Mondays during the summer.
However, organiser Michael Conradd has revealed they are so popular that they are to continue until December.
He said: "The seven planned summer Monday Afternoon Dances at The Marine Hall in Fleetwood have, so far, been so successful that it has been decided to run them every Monday until December 1, subject to support."
Venture
However, Mr Conradd's venture into Freckleton, in Fylde borough, has proved less successful.
He said an afternoon tea dance planned for Freckleton on August 7 had been cancelled, as had all subsequent dances planned there.
He added: "I have tried presenting the dances for some months now and people just don't seem interested."
