Blackpool police today carried out a number of drugs raids at properties in the centre of town. Officers bring down the front door...and a fair chunk of the front of the house. PIC BY ROB LOCK 12-9-2012

A STUNGUN and drugs were seized after police raided two Blackpool homes.

Officers raided two properties on Blackpool’s Woolman Road this morning, smashing their way into one and finding amphetamines.

And at the second property - where the occupants allowed police inside - a stungun, drugs paraphernalia, cash and suspected cocaine were seized.

Three arrests were made as a result of the operation, with a 27-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of possessing amphetamine with intent to supply and a 67-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of possessing a class B drug with intent to supply.

A 29-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs and possession of a weapon.

Sgt Paul McCurrie, neighbourhood policing, said: “Drugs inevitably have a knock on effect on our neighbourhoods, with people carrying out crime to fund a habit. Along with this, there are the health risks and elements of anti-social behaviour that come with drug use.

“We will not tolerate this blight on our neighbourhoods and will do all we can to take drugs, and drug dealers, off our streets. We need the community to come forward with information to help us do this.”
