Street fight neighbour ends up in hospital

A MAN was "glassed" in a neighbour dispute that got out of hand.

The 30-year-old went to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for stitches in his forehead and had to be kept in overnight.

Now police are seeking three men who they believe were involved in the incident on Chatsworth Avenue, Fleetwood, at 8pm on Monday.

Det Con Emma Hindley said: "There was a dispute between neighbours which resulted in a man being hit with what we believe was a glass.

"This was a very nasty incident and we would appeal to anyone who may have seen what happened.

"The incident attracted a number of people on to the street and must have been witnessed by a number of people.

"The incident could have done much more harm than it did.

"The fact this man has had to have hospital treatment and has been kept in overnight reflects the serious nature of the attack.

"When he was treated glass was still embedded in his wounds and had to be removed by doctors."

She added: "It was a disturbing thing to happen.

"Even though there were children present the people involved seemed to show no restraint and the children were traumatised."

She said they had already arrested two men who had been questioned and eliminated from the inquiry.

They were now looking for three other men who were there at the time, one of whom was described as "fat."

She added: "Anyone who can provide any information about who could have been involved should make contact with us immediately."

Anyone who can help is urged to call Det Con Hindley on (01253) 604374 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
