Showtime for morris dancers
FLEETWOOD Royalettes are gearing up for a busy couple of months.
The Morris dancing troupe will be performing at Fleetwood Carnival on Saturday June 28 and on Tram Sunday on July 20.
In addition, they are involved in weekend competitions with two separate organisations, the Independent Morris Dancing Association and the North East Wales Morris Dancing Association.
The Royalettes have been boosted by a fund-raising bonanza event at the Fleetwood Legion Sports and Social Club on Copse Road.
The moneyspinner, which included a giant auction, raised 1,400 for the long-established dance troupe.
Royalettes' principal Cheryl Rickard said: "I would like to thank all the people who helped by either organising this event, coming along to it or by sponsoring the auction.
"In particular I would like to thank our two major sponsors, Hilton Hotels and Stena Line."
The Royalettes practise at Fleetwood Sports College in the dance studio and hall on Monday and Thursdays from 6pm till 9pm, with the youngest sections meeting first.
