A TOTAL of seven fans were arrested at Blackpool’s key Championship clash with Leeds United on Tuesday night.

Scuffles broke out at Bloomfield Road and a Leeds United fan was also kicked by a police horse after the game.

Police have now charged four people, who will all appear before Blackpool Magistrates’ Court on April 27.

Jonathon Pell, 23, from Wakefield, and Kevin Widdop, 47, from Castleford, are charged with using words or behaviour which would make someone fear unlawful violence.

Christopher Pitten, 18, from Leeds, was charged with trying to enter a sports ground drunk and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

Wayne Kirby, 49, from Doncaster, is also accused of being drunk while trying to enter a sports ground, while three other men received fixed penalty notices for being drunk and disorderly.

Blackpool won the game 1-0 top keep alive their hopes of securing a play-off place in the Championship.
