Rocking you

A TOP Queen tribute band are coming to Fleetwood this week.

GaGa are a band whose main purpose is to "play Queen songs like they were meant to be heard".

Founded in 1989 this Liverpool base group has enjoyed massive success having a fan base nearly as large as that of their idols.

GaGa have established themselves as a band in their own right and are currently in the run of a nation wide tour, a tour which beings them to Fleetwood's Marine Hall performing for night one only this Friday at 8pm.

As well as often playing to sell-out crowds, the band has recently featured in a BBC documentary following the story behind the Queen hit, Bohemian Rhapsody.

The group has had a number of band member changes of late the current trio consist of Graham Patrick (drums/vocals), John Holmes (lead vocals, guitar and keyboards) and Tony Pilling (bass guitar, vocals).

GaGa was the first band to receive permission from Queen's management to record Queen material on to CD and since then have released a series of three albums.

Brian May acknowledges the band as being "excellent and stylish musicians" and personally requested a copy of their debut album released back in 1995.

In the past GaGa has played with a series of different artists including Frank Skinner, the Spice Girls and Space, as well as being involved with concerts such as Party in the Park and the International Queen Convention.

Queen classics such as, We Will Rock You, I Want to Break Free and One Vision will all be played on the night, as well as a selection of less well known ballads from the band's repertoire.
