The world-famous RAF Red Arrows will return to Blackpool’s Airshow in 2014, it has been announced.
VisitBlackpool have today confirmed the RAF has made initial allocations for the summer event which will take place over two days on August 10 and 11.
The Red Arrows will perform at the free event on Sunday, August 10 along with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Typhoon and RAF Tucano.
The Hurricane and RAF Tucano will also take to the skies above Blackpool for the second day of the Airshow on Monday 11.
More aircrafts will be added to the display and will be confirmed soon.
Coun Graham Cain, Blackpool Council Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce the initial allocation for this year’s Blackpool Airshow and, of course, it is always thrilling to know that the Red Arrows will be there.
“This is a huge event in the resort’s calendar attracting more than a hundred thousand residents and visitors.”
Blackpool Airshow was extended to two days last year and such was its success that 2014 will be a two-day show too.
