Psychic taps into theatre ghosts
IT isn't just the action on stage that sends a tingle down the spine of visitors at the Grand Theatre.
The ghostly goings-on at the Victorian venue have been pulling in the crowds as part of their new paranormal tours.
This week, the theatre has had a special visitor probing its hidden past in the form of celebrity TV psychic, Sally Morgan.
The ITV2 star, who has just finished the second series of her Star Psychic show, is due to hold an evening in the theatre on Sunday – but couldn't resist a sneaky peek behind the scenes.
Stephen Mercer, marketing manager at the Grand and organiser of the popular ghost tours, said: "It was amazing that Sally took time out of her hectic schedule to drop in at the Grand.
"After a short tour of the stage and auditorium, she was drawn to the fly floor area where she passed on information she was receiving about people who had previously worked, visited or performed at the theatre.
"She was so accurate! It was amazing!
"As well as the stage and backstage areas, we visited the Upper Circle level where again Sally was able to pass on information that surprised me.
"I believe Sally could have spent most of the day in the theatre, but unfortunately after about an hour she had to leave to get to a show."
Sally Morgan is at the Grand Theatre at 7.30pm on Sunday.
