The owners of a town centre retail unit are seeking permission from Blackpool Council to widen the potential uses of the property under planning rules.
Sarela Enterprises Ltd wants to be able to use the unit on Church Street more flexibly.
It has been empty since clothes store Monsoon and neighbouring Accessorise vacated the premises about two months ago.
Planning permission is being sought to use the property for financial purposes, or as a restaurant or cafe in the future, as well as for retail.
A report accompanying the application says: “By widening the permitted use of the unit and enhancing the scope for the premises to be reoccupied, the proposed development will contribute to economic productivity.”
