Police probe after 31 cars are damaged

POLICE in Ansdell are appealing for information following a spate of vehicle damage over the weekend.

31 reports of damage to vehicles were received by the police, reported to have taken place on Saturday evening.

The damaged vehicles were parked on Worsley Road, Links View and Rossall Road at the time that they were damaged.

The majority of the cars targeted appear to have been scratched with a sharp object.

Insp Laura Lawler said: "We have launched an investigation to catch the person responsible for this malicious and mindless act.

"We have made house-to-house enquiries and we are looking into any CCTV cameras that may have captured the offence. To assist us with this, we would be interested to hear from anyone who has any private CCTV in that area.

"I would urge anyone who witnessed these incidents or who thinks that they have any information that may be useful to our investigation, to contact us as soon as possible.

"In addition to these incidents, we have also had a spate of damage recently targeting soft top cars in the Headroom Gate and Leach Lane area – if anyone has any information about this, I would urge them to contact us.

"I would remind residents to continue to report any suspicious activity that they see to us to help us to prevent this sort of crime and bring those responsible for it to justice."

Anyone with information should contact Blackpool Police on 0845 1 25 35 45 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
