POLICE want to speak to this woman following an assault in a Blackpool takeaway.

A female attacker targeted another woman in the Tahgo restaurant, on Clifton Street, after becoming involved in an argument with the victim and two men.

The 22-year-old victim is believed to have intervened to defend her partner when she was attacked.

She was punched in the face by the woman in what police are describing as an “unprovoked assault”, causing bruising to her eye.

Following the assault the altercation then continued outside the takeaway, at around 3.15am on Sunday, August 5.

Now, police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident – or who recognises the woman pictured in the CCTV pictures here – to come forward.

PC Lee Malliband said: “I would ask anybody who thinks they can name the woman in the image to contact us on 101.”
