Perfect sixes from Blackpool ice duo

ICE stars Hayley Tamaddon and Dan Whiston produced an "Oscar-winning performance" to pull off a TV first.

The Blackpool duo - the bookies' favourites to win this year's Dancing on Ice - scored a perfect 30 points for their latest routine.

Hayley and Dan, both left visibly stunned by the marks, also got the ITV show's first ever standing ovation from the judges for their routine to the Slumdog Millionaire song Jaiho.

Judge Robin Cousins told the pair: "That is the first time we have spontaneously stood up for one of our contestants. You took it to another level. It was absolutely on the money."

Dressed in gold, Poulton-based Dan, a former star of Blackpool Pleasure Beach's Hot Ice, and former Emmerdale actress Hayley dazzled the audience.

All five judges awarded last night's routine a perfect score of six.

Olympic legend Christopher Dean said: "It was an Oscar-winning performance. Hayley threw everything into it, she is so committed. She has the skating, the performance, she has the whole package."

Boyzone star Mikey Graham was kicked off the show, losing the Week Nine skate off against Eastenders actress Daniella Westbrook.
