Parking charge rise anger
CHARGES are set to rocket by up to 200 per cent at three Blackpool car parks.
Drivers using Banks Street, Gynn Square and Seed Street will be hit in the pocket from next month.
And in a move which is set to further anger motorists hourly charges are to be scrapped at ALL council-run car parks in the resort.
Town Hall bosses said the move was being made to entice shoppers to stay longer in the town centre.
But the changes were today met with anger by hoteliers whose guests use long-stay car parks.
One, Carol Morris, who runs the South-Lea guest house on Willshaw Road, dubbed price hikes "a kick in the teeth".
