A children’s nurse is to stand before a regulatory panel next week charged with dishonest behaviour.
Nicola Lucy Ewbank was working as a senior staff nurse for Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in October 2012 when it is alleged she was dishonest about her reasons for being off work.
She will attend a fitness to practice hearing of the Nursing and Midwifery Council at the Old Bailey in London on Monday. It is alleged that Ms Ewbank altered dates of her absence on a Statement of Fitness for Work, which was received by The Trust, which runs Blackpool Victoria Hospital, without permission or authority.
She is also charged with stating she was off work because of a family bereavement when it was not the case during the relevant period.
The hearing is expected to last two days.
The NMC charges state: “Your conduct was dishonest.
“And in light of the above, your fitness to practise is impaired by reason of your misconduct.”
