Man stabbed on Blackpool street
A MAN is seriously ill in hospital after being stabbed in broad daylight on a Blackpool street.
The victim was found close to the Norwyn Court Holiday Apartments on Reads Avenue in the resort.
Emergency services were already attending a fire in the street when they were alerted to the attack.
A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said: "At 2.15pm, police received a call reporting a man had been stabbed at an address in Reads Avenue in the town.
"The man has been taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital where he is said to be in a serious condition.
"An investigation is now underway and inquiries are ongoing to identify the offender."
The fire, which emergency services had been attending further down the street, caused severe damage to the vestibule and ground floor corridor of a block of flats.
