Man slapped 'ugly' Police horse across the face

A MAN who slapped a police horse across the face claimed it had stood on his foot.

Christopher Taylor swore at mounted policeman PC Adam Pearson and police horse Sawley – telling him and his "ugly" horse to go away.

Taylor, 26, of Anderson Street, Blackpool, admitted being drunk and disorderly.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said on Thursday October 15 around 9.15pm Taylor shouted abuse at PC Pearson. The officer blocked the defendant's path with the horse and Taylor told him: "If you bring that ugly thing near me, you'll both regret it."

He then slapped the horse to the left side of its head.

Martin Hillson, defending, said: "He was trying to get past into his partner's home. He did not intend to hurt the horse."

Taylor was fined 65 with 40 costs and ordered to pay a 15 victims' charge by Blackpool magistrates.
