Man bruised his girlfriend on bus

A MAN bruised his disabled girlfriend when he manhandled her after they argued on a bus.

Nathan Farrington, 46, of Derby Road, North Shore, admitted assaulting Yvonne Topless. He was bailed to September 30 for pre-sentence reports by Blackpool magistrates.

Susan Starr, prosecuting, said four years previously Ms Topless needed a number of operations on her leg and she was classed as disabled.

On August 13 the couple had been out drinking when they argued on the bus home with Farrington accusing his girlfriend of "sleeping with anyone and everyone". Once off the bus he manhandled and dragged her home. She suffered minor bruising and damage to her clothing.

Martin Hillson, defending, said Farrington said they were both extremely drunk. He took hold of her clothing to help her up and to get her home.
