Man breached ASBO 29 times
A MAN who breached an Anti-Social Behaviour Order for the 29th time has been put behind bars.
Martin Harris, 48, of no fixed address, who described himself as a Jekyll and Hyde character when he drank alcohol, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with conditions of his Anti Social Behaviour Order.
Harris was sentenced to 90 days imprisonment by District Judge Jeff Brailsford sitting at Blackpool Magistrates' Court, who said Harris had breached every condition of the ASBO.
Brett Gerrity, prosecuting, said Harris was put on a three year ASBO in July 2008 which banned him from entering Blackpool town centre, behaving in a threatening manner and being drunk or having an open container of alcohol in public.
But Harris defied the terms on a number of occasions, entering the town centre and smashing glass panels.
On Bank Holiday Monday, at about 7pm, Harris was drunk and kicked glass panels at the Coral Island Amusement arcade, causing 400 worth of damage.
Harris had 28 previous convictions for breaching his ASBO.
Kathryn Edwards, defending, said: "He is a chronic alcoholic. He drank a bottle of cider and beyond that he has no explanation for his behaviour."
