Love, from Blackpool, offers a Gold blend
OOH la la! Blackpool is once more using a French connection to promote the resort's charms.
Following on from the success of its YouTube film J’aime La Tour, tourism chiefs have made a sequel which has today been released on the internet.
The first clip followed the fortunes of Lancashire lad Frank and chic French girl Valerie who fell in love in with a Blackpool with a Parisienne touch of je ne sais quoi.
This time around the pair are enjoying a romantic night out in the town which culminates in a very special proposal.
Bosses said following the release of the first film, they were inundated with requests from people wanting to know what happened to the couple.
It is now hoped Love, From Blackpool will generate the same kind of interest as the Gold Blend campaign of 20 years ago which followed the ups and downs of a couple falling in love over coffee.
Helen France, executive director for tourism and regeneration at Blackpool Council, said: “This new film not only carries on where the first one left off, but also shows visitors they can enjoy a romantic night out here.”
