Light up your bikes... and dogs in Wyre!

Ride the Lights on Blackpool Promenade.

Ride the Lights on Blackpool Promenade.

Fleetwood’s Memorial Park is hosting a LightCycles and LumiDogs creative workshop.

Ahead of the Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On, residents are invited to light up their two wheeled and four legged friends at a free creative workshop with professional artists.

Every year Ride the Lights sees thousands of two wheeled enthusiasts take to Blackpool Promenade for a special preview of the Illuminations.

This year a series of workshops by LeftCoast is providing the chance to customise your bike with lights and reflectors, allowing you to create an illuminated bike worthy of appearing in the Illuminations itself.

Everyone who attends the workshop will be invited to form a Light Cycles group that will take part in the Ride the Lights event in Blackpool on Tuesday, August 26.

They’ll also be entered into a competition for the best decorated bike for the chance to win bicycle-themed prizes.

Dog owners are also invited to get involved by bringing their pet pooch along for an opportunity to illuminate their dog and put them centre stage. These pooches will take part in an Illuminated Doggie Fashion Parade on the Promenade on September 20, and will have the chance to be crowned LumiDogs Champion 2014 in a special ceremony on the night.

LightCycles and LumiDogs takes place in the picnic area at Memorial Park, Warrenhurst Road, Fleetwood on Saturday, August 23, from 1pm - 4pm.

To book your place visit www.leftcoast.org.uk or call (01253) 477973.
