Strictly Come Dancing star judge Len Goodman films in The Blackpool Tower Ballroom for a new BBC programme

King of ballroom Len Goodman has been at the home of dance to film for a new BBC documentary.

The Strictly Come Dancing head judge took to the Tower Ballroom dance floor for a show about the history of dance.

Tower manager Kate Shane said: “Where else is there to go when you’re looking at the history of dance?

“He had a dance with his co-presenter and spent some time meeting and greeting our regulars.

“Len loves Blackpool and the Tower, and anything we can do with him we will try to be accommodating.

“He is a great ambassador for us and dance is such an important part of our history and now with Strictly and the other dance events we host.”

Kate believes the series is due to air in the early autumn, which will coincide with the return of Strictly Come Dancing to TV screens.

And the Tower team is hopeful the show will return to Blackpool once more.

“There’s nothing formal in place, as yet,” said Kate. “But I’m speaking to the production team regularly, so watch this space.”
