Katie Price wows crowds on the Fylde

THERE were tears, traffic jams and one eye-popping black tutu as tabloid princess Katie Price arrived on the Fylde.

The model, turned reality TV/pop star was wearing her author's hat when she stopped off in Blackpool and Kirkham to promote her latest novel Paradise.

And hundreds of ecstatic fans turned out to give her a welcome to remember.

In Blackpool, Waterstones was flooded with screaming, Team Price T-shirt wearing women who queued from 5am to get a glimpse of the star as she signed books.

The wait paid off for patient fans as the model made a show stopping entrance in a barely-there black tutu encrusted with the name of her book in sparkling sequins.

She said: "I'm really happy to be in Blackpool, it normally rains when I'm here so I'm pleased the sun is out.

"It's nice so many people have turned out, as I was leaving this morning, I got a call to say queues were already forming.

"It just shows I do have true fans."

For many, meeting the star proved too much. Rachel Bradshaw, 23, from Marton said: "I just burst into tears when I saw her. She asked if I was ok, she was really nice.

"I love everything about her and how she doesn't care what people think, it was worth the wait."

After a quick stop at the Pleasure Beach to sample three rides, the star made her way to Silverdell's In Kirkham where her arrival certainly stopped traffic.

More than 600 people lined the streets in what Silverdells described as their busiest signing ever.

Shannon Emms, 14, queued from 1.30pm, she said: "I love Katie's shows, getting to meet her was amazing."
