Julian Clary to be star turn at Lowther Pavilion, Lytham
BEST selling author Jodi Picoult and top comedian Julian Clary are heading to Lytham to showcase their literary talents.
Jodi Picoult and comic Julian Clary, who recently published his memoirs and a novel, will both star in special events.
Clary, 49, will showcase his third book, a dark comic novel entitled Devil in Disguise, at a specially arranged talk at the Lowther Pavilion.
His appearance will help raise money and awareness for theatre support group, Friends of Lowther Pavilion.
And New Yorker Picoult, who shot to fame after her books were showcased by TV hosts Richard and Judy, will meet fans at a literary lunch event at The Grand Hotel in St Annes and introduce her new book Handle with Care.
Elaine Silverwood, from SilverDell bookshop and ice cream parlour in Kirkham, which organised the two events, said: "It's such a coup to have these great names coming to the Fylde."
The theatre event is set to provide a massive boost for the Friends of Lowther Pavilion, who are currently trying to improve and safeguard the facility's future.
Peter Taylor, chairman of the group, said: "We are very grateful to Elaine and the team at SilverDell for their support in these events."
Tickets for An Evening with Julian Clary, which takes place on June 3 and cost 18.50 including a copy of his new book, are on sale from Lowther Pavilion Box Office. Call (01253) 658666.
