I'll slit your kids' throats

A TEENAGE thug is behind bars today after he warned a police officer: "I'm going to find out where you live and slit your kids' throats."

Dean McLaughlin issued the chilling threat after he was arrested – yet again.

The 18-year-old, of Elizabeth Court, Layton, was already the subject of an anti-social behaviour order after being blamed for a 100,000 graffiti rampage.

He moved to Blackpool after his Asbo barred him from his former home in Preston.

But he was arrested again in Blackpool and has now been imprisoned for 140 days after pleading guilty to two offences of breaching his Asbo, possessing a knuckleduster as an offensive weapon and threatening police.

Cecilia Pritchard, prosecuting, said the defendant's behaviour in the resort included trying to pull off a female police community support officer's hat and telling a male PC he was going to bite his ear off, before shouting: "I'm going to find out who you are, where you live and slit your kids throats."

The case has shocked Blackpool council leader Peter Callow who today argued Blackpool should not be getting Preston's "cast-offs".

He said: "I don't know whether we should be asking the courts to allow him back in to certain parts of Preston.

"That is not part of my jurisdiction, but we don't want him causing problems here.

"I'd call for him to be returned to his home town, obviously moving him out has made matters worse."
